Excepting, of course, the homeless people that are sustaining themselves off dumpster-diving and begging. That said, I suspect even those civilization-dependent homeless people are more able to abide adversity than most. Either way, it’s a very good point, especially insofar as anyone with a dog and a wind-up radio is much better prepared than most people.
